Google updates Gboard for iOS with Maps, YouTube integration and more

With a handful of notable new features and key services from Google, including the integration YouTube, Google Maps, and Doodling, the new version of Gboard app will allow its users to share their location with relatives and friends, or with any other address, directly from the Gboard keyboard. Similarly, the new update will let users send their location to friends and family by just tapping the G button and dropping a Google Maps link into the conversation. This way, it's easier than ever to share your current location, or maybe a amusing YouTube video, with friends - without switching apps.

This new tool will save users a trip to Maps by letting them open it in Gboard.

Google's latest update for Gboard comes as Microsoft Corp. announces it has closed down its own iOS keyboard app. Now to search a specific video, type what you are looking for in the search tab and the keyboard will show four to five video options from YouTube.

These new features have been added to the latest Gboard app for the iPhone. This Ink feature can be accessed by tapping the emoji button, then the pen icon.

Apart from a different font and lighter colour-scheme, Gboard doesn't look much different than the standard iOS keyboard.

A similar feature now works to make it easier to find the right emoji as well.

Google first launched Gboard in May 2016 for iOS, adding an Android version six months later. At the top left, Gboard users see a small Google "G" (left) that brings up the service's features. Furthermore, the company has added three more languages to the app which include, Arabic, Hebrew, and Farsi.

And, to the delight of many GIF users, the keyboard also has a built-in GIF search.
