Lee, a legend in the entertainment industry who co-created numerous comics characters beloved around the world-including Spider-Man, Iron Man, and the Incredible Hulk, among others-filed a $1 billion suit against the company he co-founded in 2001, POW!

The complaint centers around the 2017 sale of the company to Hong Kong-based Camsing International.

Lee accuses the pair of conspiring "to fraudulently steal Lee's identity, name, image and likeness as part of a nefarious scheme to benefit financially at [his] expense" - following his "devastating" decline in health due to macular degeneration.

The complaints also claims that Duffy and Champion took advantage of Lee while he was grieving the loss of his wife Joan in 2017: "Upon her death, Lee at the age of 94 became the target of various unscrupulous businessmen, sycophants and opportunists who saw a chance to take advantage of Lee's despondent mind, kind heart and devotion to his craft".

According to a complaint filed in the L.A. County Superior Court, Lee was asked by his business partners to sign a non-exclusive license with POW! in order to use his name and likeness for creative endeavours. When the deal happened, Lee could not read the document that he was signing. Apparently POW! had to get a sign-off from Lee to use his name, and he claims he never signed any contract. Entertainment for US$1 billion in damages for the "theft of his identity and likeness" in a lawsuit against the executives' fraud in a China deal.

Lee also claims POW! took control of his social media accounts and has been impersonating him - something he's recently addressed on Twitter.

Lee was allegedly robbed by Olivarez, whom he claims coordinated plans to steal a significant sum before illegally purchasing property in his name.
