Metro Exodus release date pushed back by Deep Silver

However, we have a release window for the later, being the first quarter of 2019.

Hopefully the additional development time will allow 4A games to cook up something really special for the third game in the popular post-apocalyptic shooter franchise.

At The Game Awards 2017, it was announced that the latest instalment in the Metro series would release this autumn. There is no explanation why the game has been delayed in the press release, but we hope that it is just because they wanted to provide the gamers with a more complete gameplay experience.

Previous year at E3 2017, 4A Games and Deep Silver shared a glimpse at some breathtaking gameplay from their upcoming title, Metro: Exodus, the much anticipated third installment in the Metro franchise. However, Deep Silver CEO Lars Wingefors has hinted that this simply could be due to the number of titles being released in 2018.

Deep Silver, at the conclusion of it's statement, did state that more of Metro: Exodus will be shown at E3 including "some brand new gameplay from a never before seen game environment for [players] to enjoy".

The Metro games are based on a series of novels published by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky. Are you disappointed that you'll have to wait a bit longer for the game, or do you think it's more important that the developers take all the time they need to get it done right?

During the three months ending March 31st, THQ Nordic (née Nordic Games) reportedly earned roughly 225.9 million SEK (~$25.9 million USD) in profits on revenues of 632.9 million SEK (~$78.9 million USD).

Earlier this year, the company released Kingdom Come Deliverance via Deep Silver.
