Apple iPhone X vs Nokia 9: An Expected Battle

HMD Global has announced the launch of its new X-series with Nokia X6 smartphone in China.

Do you wish HMD Global was launching the X6 in the west? We were expecting that Nokia will stick with its unique design language, but for some reasons, it is now yet another company to launch a phone with a notch on top of the display. This display holds 432ppi pixel density in a 19:9 aspect ratio. Powering this mid-range smartphone, there is an octa-core Snapdragon 636 chipset along with 4/6GB RAM and 32/64GB internal storage. The phone runs come pre-installed with stock Android 8.1 Oreo which happens to be another positive with the phone.

A 16MP + 5MP dual camera combination clicks photos from the rear, enhanced with HDR support and artificial intelligence. The 16MP front camera allows for a face unlock feature, another way this phone keeps up with the Joneses, so to speak. The 4GB RAM model packs 32GB and 64GB internal storage while the 6GB RAM variant packs 64GB internal storage.

The glossy back sports two vertically stacked cameras in the middle. On the rear, we can also spot the circular fingerprint sensor.

The X6 is available to pre-order in China from today in black, dark blue and silver colour finishes, in three configurations. Meanwhile, the Finnish tech giant is now preparing to unveil Nokia X or X6 in China on May 16 as per the reports. The phone has 3060 mAh built-in battery with Type-C charging cable (USB 2.0). Except for the Nokia 1 Android Go smartphones, all the other Android smartphones launched in 2018 are Android One devices. This is possible due to the quick charge 3.0. At the same time, 4GB RAM and 64 GB storage variant will be sold at CNY 1,499 (about 16,000 INR).

In terms of specifications, the device features a 5.5-inch IPS display with a full-HD display with a 1080x1920 pixels resolution. The onboard storage will be expandable via microSD card. The notch is also not as expansive as on the iPhone X, it is just wide enough to house the front cam, proximity sensor, and earpiece. If translated in United States dollars, the price starts at $204!
