Bloodstained 8-Bit Spin-Off Curse Of The Moon Out This Month

While the game is retro in many ways, one way it will be adding its own twist to the formula is with the Ally system.

Igarashi is working with developer Inti Creates on Curse of the Moon, which is a spinoff of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, which is a modern spiritual successor to the Symphony of the Night. That game, called Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, was announced this week, and it'll be with us later this month.

When Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night hit Kickstarter, it immediately became one of the biggest video games ever funded on the platform.

It resembles the 8-bit Castlevania games from the NES era and features 4 playable characters named Miriam, Zangetsu, Alfred, and Gebel.

Following the announcement, the publisher released a large batch of screenshots providing another look at the nostalgic game. Zangetsu is the main character of the game and meets the other three characters during his journey.

Battle with swords and whips in this retro-style action game brought to you by game creator Koji Igarashi and Inti Creates! Your choices in recruiting these adventurers will change the difficulty of the game and also may effect the ending. If you backed Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night on Kickstarter and pledged $28 or over you get this title for free via Fangamer.

Inti Creates has confirmed that it will be releasing Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon on May 24th for PS4, Xbox One, PC, Switch, 3DS, and Vita.

Igarashi added that he was able to play the spin-off himself and "had a great deal of fun with it".
