Bungie Releases Destiny 2 Warmind Launch Trailer 1 Day Early

Included in the expansion and going live on Friday, 11 May is a new Raid Lair, a Destiny fan-favorite endgame activity, called "Spire of Stars", that offers new areas to explore, a brand-new boss to conquer, and unique rewards to acquire. However, the launch trailer for Warmind reveals just that and many more details.

So when can you start playing Destiny 2: Warmind?

If you've had time to play Destiny 2's Warmind, you'll have no doubt visited the Clovis Bray facilities where several missions in the expansion's story are set. That should get you sorted ahead of the launch later today.

Players can purchase Destiny 2 Expansion II: Warmind individually ($19.99), or as part of the Destiny 2 Expansion Pass ($34.99). This plan goes into effect on May 8 with the beginning of Season Three. Aside from that, you can open regional chests for a chance to get the drop, or kill high value targets and loot their chests to see if you get lucky.

When will Destiny 2 be back online? You do not need to own Curse of Osiris to buy and play Warmind. There will be private matches in Crucible, two new Crucible maps, a new Ranked Crucible Setup, improved exotic weapons, and the expansion to Vault space. It's a huge moment for Destiny 2, and will coincide with the game's entry into Season 3 of its content, which will provide updates to various equipment, PS4 exclusive PvE content, and more.

Players are reporting not being able to access their latest purchase, even though it has been installed on their console. Aside from vast new structures, players must survive an event known as the "Hive Escalation Protocol". You can manually start the Escalation Protocol, but you'll first have to finish the campaign. In addition, a new Raid Lair called Spire of Stars is coming to Destiny 2 alongside the expansion's release as well as changes to the Crucible.
