Man Utd boss Mourinho ready to allow Martial leave

There have been reports claiming that United manager Jose Mourinho has promised a chance to play his preferred central forward role next season, instead of being placed out wide, but other narratives indicate a potential move to Chelsea. The 22-year-old France worldwide has been limited to four Premier League starts since at Old Trafford since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal in January.

Since the arrival of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez, Martial has struggled for game time at Manchester United, and when given the opportunity has showed inconsistency.

Martial was criticised along with Rashford on Friday by Mourinho after the club's surprise 1-0 defeat to Brighton.

'We're in all probability not so good as individuals suppose we're individually'.

Anthony Martial of Manchester United walks off after the Premier League match between Manchester United and Arsenal at Old Trafford on April 29, 2018 in Manchester, England.

Martial remains highly thought of across Europe - despite his limited minutes for the Red Devils - and has been monitored closely by Juventus as they look to bolster their front line to ease the pressure on Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain.

The French ace was in demand final summer time with Inter Milan as Mourinho focused a transfer for winger Ivan Perisic.

Chelsea may be unwilling to do business with United again after losing Nemanja Matic to them last summer in what many people have called one of the signings of the season, and a big reason for Chelsea's poor title defence.
