If you are waiting to purchase Xiaomi Redmi 5A smartphone, you can purchase exclusively on Mi.com at 12 PM today.

According to the teaser posted on Weibo, the new S series smartphone of Xiaomi i.e Redmi S2 will launch on May 10.

Pre-orders for Redmi Note 5 start tomorrow on Lazada, and the device can be purchased offline from the Mi Stores starting May 5. It is likely that the company will launch the Redmi S2 in India and other possible markets once it has been officially unveiled in its home-country China. The Redmi S2 will ship with Android 8.1 atop Xiaomi's proprietary MIUI 9 skin. However, the display resolution will be an HD+ (1440 x 720pixels) resolution. The smartphone will be available in three variants of memory configuration - 2GB RAM + 16GB storage, 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. The Mi A2 (Mi 6x) is obviously more of a mid-tier device that offers a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor under the hood, paired with a 3010mAh battery. The Redmi S2 is also expected to be launched with similar storage configurations but priced around Rs.8,000 and Rs.9,000 respectively. The internal storage is 32 GB which can be expanded using microSD card.

By the way, the teaser also mentioned that one of the dual rear cameras will be a 12MP sensor.

Several rumors have outlined the possible features that the Redmi S2 will offer, but the official launch date has remained a big mystery. It is said that Redmi S2 smartphone will have a 3000mAh battery. There appear to be not many changes apart from these in terms of the design.

Talking about the front of the phone, a recently leaked image (see above) reveals an 18:9 display with small bezels at the left and right side of the phone, with top and bottom bezels being relatively larger.
