APC Ward Congress: PDP Warns Contenders To Avoid Desperation For Power

"The committee failed for the following reasons: non-appearance of Local Organising Committee at local government levels, non-appearance of ward electoral officials at the 114 wards of the state at election centres".

At Ovu Ward 5, Salubi Primary School, Ethiope East local government area, congress was held while some persons were seen complaining bitterly of the result of the congress.

Non of that happened in Rivers State rather, party men and women were asked to go to their wards and wait for the congress. We are open to all Democrats who want to identify with us.

Authoritative sources told NAN that the leaders of the ward chose to conduct the election for the candidates, using Option A4 after waiting in vain for the INEC officials.

The APC has congratulated all its members for the conduct of the party's ward congresses which took place across the country over the weekend.

"There can not be any contradiction between facts and allegations".

On the other hand, the Ekiti State Governor Mr Ayodele Fayose also expressed his displeasure over the conduct of the election, while stating alleged plans by some hoodlums to disrupt the Congress of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday. What the APC has done is to send out a risky warning signal to all and sundry that they will do everything possible, including violence and taking of lives, to achieve their aim in 2019 and this message has been sent loud and clear with the dastardly murder of Mr. Jeremiah Aghoveta.

Olaoya said the 351 Wards Congresses were monitored by INEC officials and the security agents to authenticate the exercise.

"As we mourn with the bereaved family of Mr. Jermiah Aghoveta and indeed all Deltans, over this sad and unnecessary death, we pray the good Lord to give his immediate family and relatives the fortitude to bear the loss and the grace and divine provision to carry on without him in the months and years to come. We must allow the committee to remain independent in its onerous duties and decision-making", he said.
