Philadelphia Eagles' Daryl Worley arrested, report says; team releases statement

According to a source, Worley was arrested around 6 a.m. Sunday.

The Eagles confirmed Worley's arrest prior to his release, saying in a statement, "We are in the process of gathering more information about Daryl Worley's arrest this morning".

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback and former West Virginia Mountaineers star Daryl Worley reportedly was arrested and tased following an incident early Sunday, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Worley had reportedly become "combative" with police. Philly.com's Les Bowen reported that Worley might not be with the team after the incident.

Allegedly, Worley was found with a gun in his possession and police had to use a taser in order to subdue him for arrest.

Rapoport added more details.

Officers responded to Broad and Pattison Sunday morning, where they found Worley asleep in his vehicle on the highway.

Worley, who was drafted by the Panthers in the third round of the 2016 draft, had two interceptions and 49 tackles for Carolina last season.

Worley, 23, came to town as the return from Carolina in the Torrey Smith trade.
