Strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to develop along and east of a line from Council Grove to Marysville by mid afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Areas to its north and west will see up to 1 inch, the weather service said.

Schools, businesses, families and individuals have two opportunities to test their emergency plans during the statewide drills, which are part of the annual spring severe weather campaign to encourage everyone in Wisconsin to be ready for possible tornadoes and severe weather. We all need to remain Weather Alert for the rest of the afternoon/early nighttime hours. If severe storms are possible Friday, the drills will be canceled.
