Richard Sherman Out in Seattle?

The Seattle Seahawks reign as an elite NFC team seems to be over as the franchise cut bait with Michael Bennett on Wednesday, trading him to Philadelphia, and now they are poised to do the same with Richard Sherman.

Sherman was scheduled to meet with Pete Carroll and John Schneider this week.

The strongest indications that Sherman's departure from the Seahawks is imminent have come from teammates on social media.

The former Stanford cornerback's future is uncertain with the Seattle Seahawks.

Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane tweeted what appears to be a response to Sherman's message to him, "That text message got my heart hurting. damn 25 (Sherman's jersey number) was my Dawg #WhatsNext".

Sherman responded to that report by telling ESPN's Josina Anderson that he hasn't "been told anything" about his future.

Kam Chancellor also responded to Sherman's message, suggesting Sherman could be gone. Sherman is recovering from a ruptured Achilles, which he suffered in Seattle's win over the Cardinals on November 9.

The cornerback announced last month he would forgo an agent and represent himself heading in to the final year of his contract.

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has always showered Sherman with praise, calling him a "great" player in this video and touting that since he's come into the National Football League that he's had more interceptions than any other player. For the 2018 season, he's due to be paid $11 million in base salary and a $2.2 million signing bonus by the Seahawks, or any potential suitors looking to gain the rights to his services.
