Orlando Brown likely to drop out of first round after poor combine

Don't be a parade-ruiner and just enjoy these inevitably off-base projections for the first 10 picks with the draft seven weeks out.

With stats and determination like Griffin's along with his head-turning performance at the combine, Griffin has become one of the standout players of the upcoming draft.

For the Rams, scouting a prospect is broken down into three different phases - what they have seen on game tape, getting to know the players in person through private meetings, and matching their film with various positional drills at the Combine. The 6-foot-5 pass catcher shined during the on-field drills, running the 40-yard dash in 4.54 seconds and leaping 41.5 inches in the vertical. Even more impressive than his 4.38 40-yard dash was his short shuttle (3.98) and three-cone (6.71) times.

Griffin's performance sparked the interested of many current and former National Football League players, including JJ Watt, DeMarcus Ware, Russell Wilson, Von Miller and Deion Sanders, just to name a few, with numerous current players voicing that they would love to be on the same team as Griffin. No, he doesn't, because the Nittany Lions offense utilized his athleticism, and Gesicki responded with highlight grabs after creating mismatches against linebackers and defensive backs. Not necessarily. He's got size, long arms and he's hard to get around.

Jackson also turned in a solid 4.49 time in the 40, but it was his sure hands that really caught the attention of several analysts and scouts. At 227 pounds, he ran a 4.38 40-yard dash, adding 20 reps of 225 pounds on the bench and a 9-feet-9 broad jump. With only one pick through the first two days in their pocket, the Eagles are fortunate not to need a ton of help.

The Browns first two picks will be the No. 1 and No. 4 overall (thanks to a deal with the Houston Texans), and they again start out the second round with the first pick there, and then will be on the board again two picks later - again thanks to Houston.

Recapping the action at the NFL Combine is "Broncos Blitz" podcast hosts Ronnie K and Shawn Drotar, who go over each of the quarterbacks set to go early in the NFL Draft and discuss the criticism that each of the prospects have been facing. The Giants won two Super Bowls due to their defensive lines, so Chubb could be an attractive pick. He rounded all that off with a 4.65 second 40 and 20 repetitions on the bench press. He will likely be a top four pick, depending on how many quarterbacks are taken.

But with his stellar combine performance, Griffin proved that he is much more than just a feel-good story.

"Barkley has superstar stamped all over him, so the Browns going with him first overall isn't outrageous".
