Chelsea's N'Golo Kante slumps in front of Teammates

Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante dramatically collapsed during training last Friday, just days before their Premier League clash with Manchester City.

The French global had suffered a heart problem, it was learned, but was found to not have any heart issue after cardiology tests.

His health problems came just hours after Fiorentina captain Davide Astori tragically passed away in his hotel room.

It was odd not seeing N'Golo Kante in the Chelsea starting lineup on Sunday evening.

The midfielder momentarily passed out after training last Friday with team-mates anxious Kante had suffered a heart problem.

The Daily Telegraph newspaper said shocked team-mates feared the France global had suffered a heart problem when he briefly passed out after training on Friday.

He was sent to see a specialist for a series of cardiology tests after regaining consciousness.

A Chelsea doctor is thought to have arrived at the ex-Leicester star's aid after he slumped to one side in the Cobham dressing room.

It has been suggested last week's freezing temperatures could have contributed to Kante fainting. He had 14 worldwide caps with Italy and played under the Chelsea boss during his two-year spell as manager of the national side.

Having missed that insipid 1-0 defeat to the runaway leaders, Kante should return to Antonio Conte's squad this weekend for a top-flight London derby against struggling Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge after coming through a training session on Monday [5 March] with no further problems.
