Neymar begins recovery after foot surgery

PSG have confirmed that Neymar underwent "successful" surgery on his fractured foot at a hospital in Belo Horizonte on Saturday.

The physician added, however, that he should be in "full form" by the time of the World Cup.

PSG will assess Neymar in six weeks to establish a possible date for his return to training, with reports suggesting the 26-year-old could be out of action for around three months.

PSG revealed on Wednesday that after three days of rest and various tests, the only option available was to operate on Neymar and that Brazil national team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar agreed that it was the right decision.

The Brazilian has now left hospital following the surgery and will begin his rehabilitation with Brazil and PSG physiotherapist Rafael Martini.

According to Brazilian website Uol, Neymar's entourage has already prepared his recovery "headquarters" at his villa, which includes a gymnasium and a machine capable of producing 300kg of ice a day, similar to those used by modern football clubs.
