Eternally Relatable Tiffany Haddish Re-Wears Gown at Oscars

Presenters Tiffany Haddish and Maya Rudolph added a little humor to this year's Oscars ceremony.

And that's why Tiffany Haddish made a decision to wear her dress for a third time last night, despite it being very "taboo" to do at awards shows.

And again during Weekend Update.

Haddish told People at the Governors Ball after-party that she was elated to meet her idol earlier in the night. "The universe has a way of taking care of the good people, you know what I mean?" she said, tweaking Seacrest's chin.

Haddish didn't wear it the entire evening, however, choosing to walk the red carpet in a traditional Eritrean dress as a tribute to the heritage of her late father who was from Eritrea.

"My father is from Eritrea and he passed away past year", she tells ABC's Michael Strahan at the Sunday, March 4 ceremony. I'm [going to] wear this dress multiple times.

Bridesmaids star Maya said: 'We just want to say, don't worry - there are so many more white people to come tonight'. We just came from backstage and there are tonnes of them back there. "This dress cost way more than my mortgage ... this is an Alexander McQueen, okay?"

First off was Haddish's debut Oscar red carpet get-up, which paid homage to her roots.

"I got an invitation", the comedian confirmed with a big smile.
