Combine star Shaquem Griffin makes sense for Packers

Griffin did it again Sunday when he ran the fastest 40-yard dash by a linebacker at the combine - 4.38 seconds.

NFL Network host Rich Eisen said the unofficial time of 4.38 was the fastest time for a linebacker since at least 2003.

On Saturday he managed to bench press 225 pounds 20 times, using a prosthetic hand to grip the bar.

Griffin, who wasn't even initially invited to the Indianapolis Combine, is trying to become the first one-handed player drafted in the modern era. At the age of four, his left hand got amputated due to issues caused by Amniotic Band Syndrome.

The player who seemed like a recruiting afterthought coming out of high school is the same one every team should be coveting in the 2018 National Football League draft. "I came here and remembered what my brother told me a year ago: 'What you put in is what you get out of it.' One thing I can say is I'm not going to look back and say I didn't put in enough". "And that's kind of cool when you have guys at that top level, the best of the best, and they come and talk to you about you motivating them and inspiring them, I feel really good hearing that from them".

As awesome as it might sound to land Griffin in Houston, his incredible performance might have taken him out of play for the Texans. His recognition of run schemes allows him to shut them down before they can even get going.

Griffin finished the season with All-American honors and was a two-time All-American Athletic Conference first team pick. Him just saying five, five is me just warming up. "Let's go! And I just started cranking them out". This guy is going to inspire so many people beyond football, and I absolutely love all of the success he is having. "Forget about the deformity, or whatever you want to call what he has". He blitzed. At the Senior Bowl workouts, he played linebacker, safety and defensive line. I'm putting everything I've got into it. Initially projected by scouts to be selected in the later rounds of the draft, his unbelievable showing at the combine has surely risen his value.
