EPL: Arsenal vs Manchester City: Fernandinho rules out of clash

"There's no accountability, as I've said on a few occasions".

The Gunners put in a lacklustre performance during the 3-0 Carabao Cup final defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.

The defeat to City was the latest blow in what is developing into a hard season for Arsenal, who exited the FA Cup at the hands of Nottingham Forest and survived a scare in the Europa League when they lost at home to Ostersunds in the second leg of the last 32.

The Londoners have endured another hard season under Wenger, whose side are sixth and a staggering 27 points adrift of Premier League champions-elect City, while they avoided an embarrassing Europa League exit despite a shock 2-1 loss at home to Ostersund.

"If they secure top four, if they have a good run in the Champions League and win the FA Cup, it's a step forward again from previous year".

"I'm here for 21 years, I turned the whole world down to respect my contracts, so I'm amazed that I still have to answer these kind of questions".

Wright: "I want Arsenal to challenge again, for them to sign players who will get you excited".

Thursday's game, rather disconcertingly for Wenger, sees leaders City visit the Emirates Stadium for a league clash. If you don't have them you're going to struggle to win anything. "You have to acknowledge as well that Man City are a quality team".

Wenger said his team has to accept that criticism, but defended their work ethic and pointed out that they showed plenty of fight in getting to the final. I am not convinced. I just don't think he's evolved as well as other managers and he's got a blind spot in certain parts of his team.

"He knows, his family knows, his manager knows, we want to keep him with us for a long time", Guardiola said.

"We got to the final and you don't get there by coincidence".

"You have to say as well, we played a team that dominates the Premier League". We had to fight very hard and knock out Chelsea over two games.

He is out for the two games on Thursday and Sunday, certainly out.

"They need to ask if the players cared about that particular game, or were they believing, when they walked out, that they'd lost the game already?"

It's obvious that there's quite a lot needed but I think it is somebody in that team who is a born victor, whatever position it may be.
