Two AAP MLAs held for assault on Delhi chief secy

Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash alleged that he was attacked by AAP MLAs when he arrived for a meeting with the Chief Minister.

AAP has fallen in trouble as some of its MLAs have been charged with assaulting Delhi's Chief Secretary.

The incident took place when Delhi CM Kejriwal was attending a meeting at his resident in which Anshu Prakash was also present.

The plea was mentioned for urgent hearing before a bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar which said the police was already looking into the incident and it would wait for the final outcome.

A case has been registered at Civil Lines Police Station in north Delhi on the complaint filed by the chief secretary. "We had asked him (Anshu Prakash) about an area where people were not getting basic facilities like medicine, the chief secretary suddenly shouted "Maine Daliton ki thekedaari nahi le rakhi hai", his temper was high", Jarwal told ANI earlier. Jarwal was arrested by Delhi police on late Tuesday night.

Aam Admi Party, on the other hand, has called the allegations baseless.

The alleged assault, which led to the arrest of an AAP legislator, followed an altercation over claims that officials had not sanctioned ads for the Kejriwal government's third anniversary on February 14.

"In public interest the officers and staff will continue to work in their offices".

"We have sought an appointment with the President to demand action against those who were involved in the attack", Manisha Saxena, secretary of the Delhi IAS Association said on Wednesday.

Prakash in a statement requested the Delhi police to take action as per law.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted and said- I am deeply pained by the happenings involving the Chief Secretary of the Delhi Government. AAP Govt is unable to deliver-Beating of Chief Secretary by MLAs in front of CM is another low & is aimed to divert attention from Govt failures! AAP and anarchy have become synonymous, Dr Patra said, adding that the party has no relation with the Constitution.
