Marvel's Jessica Jones season 2 extended trailer is here!

From the trailer for season 2 of Jessica Jones, it is clear that Jessica's journey with Kilgrave (David Tennant) is over, but there are more facets of her past that we just don't know about. I'm just not feeling the whole "superhero origin story mystery" angle, which this trailer appears to setup as the primary drive for the new season. Jessica Jones, following in Daredevil's footsteps, helped prove that this darker, more grounded and adult take on the MCU could work. The first season of Jessica Jones went places the viewer never expected.

The new full length trailer for "Jessica Jones" season 2 has arrived as the highly anticipated series returns to Netflix on March 8. However, as we followed Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones, we quickly realized that this show was not about superheroics but instead was a grim treatise on rape, consent and gaslighting. Tennant made a fantastic villain out of the character, so much that he's disgusting enough for me to think one season was enough of him. Substance and perhaps the return of a certain somebody with a thing for the colour purple?

The trailer also shows the return of Rachael Taylor as Trish (who's gearing herself up to be her best friend's new sidekick), Eka Darville as Malcom, and Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth.

At the end of Jessica Jones season 1, fans will recall that Jessica killed Kilgrave - the man who had mentally, physically and sexually abused her, using his mind controlling powers to make her obey his every command. After her wins in the first season and The Defenders, the hard-drinking superpowered private investigator (Krysten Ritter) is eager to disappear back into the shadows, but her public fame and troubled past won't allow that.
