Morocco advanced to finals after 3-1 win in their match against Libya in the semi-finals.

Morocco created their first opening as early as the fifth minute, as Achraf Bencharki put Ismail Haddad in on goal.

"It surprised me to see the players survive the remaining minutes of the game against Sudan after been reduced to 10 men with Ifeanyi ifeanyi sent off in the 59th minute".

It was Morocco's first ever semi-final appearance in the history of the African Nations Championship.

While the winger chipped the ball over the on-rushing goalkeeper Muhammad Nashnoush, Libyan defender Motasem Sabbou got back to clear from nearly under his own crossbar.

Wideman Zakaria Hadraf deserves credit for his decisive contributions, while a midfield duo of Salaheddine Saidi and Mehdi Barrahma may have too much for Dayo Ojo, Ifeanyi Ifeanyi and veteran Rabiu Ali.

Libya offered little in attack for the first hour of the match, but on 63 minutes they almost claimed the lead.

Fifteen minutes after the break, Libya had their best chance of the game when Saleh Taher had his header cleared off the line by Abdeljalil Jbira.

Despite being closed down by two Libyans on the left, Bencharki still managed to squeeze the pass to El Kaabi to finish with a superb header.

If the hosts thought their prolific striker's goal was going to be enough, they were sorely mistaken.

The third goal was scored minutes later by Moroccan Walid El Karti.

The lead was cancelled thirteen minutes later as Libya's Abdulrahm Khalleefah hit an equalizer sending the game into extra time.

El Kaabi broadened his scoring record with an objective in the initial segment of the additional time.

In defence, goalkeeper Anas Zniti may have endured a terrible lapse against Libya, but he underpins a fine defensive unit, with Raja duo Badr Benoun and El Yamiq keeping the talented Nayef Aguerd out of the starting XI during the knockouts.
