Overwatch 'Lunar New Year' Special Event Is Returning

The Lunar New Year update is now officially set to arrive next week.

Blizzard has announced that the Lunar New Year event will be returning to Overwatch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC early next month and will be celebrating the Year of the Dog. Stay tuned until February 8 to see what the Lunar New Year will bring to Overwatch players.

This February, Pet Valu will take the old saying, "you lucky dog" to a whole new level.

2018 is the Year of the Dog, according to the Chinese zodiac.

Blizzard said it will share more information on what's coming in the Year of the Dog "soon", but we can probably get a good idea of what's in store by looking at what happened last year.

We can also expect that there will be new skins and costumes introduced into the game that will be themed about the Lunar New Year, so if you are an avid collector of skins then it will definitely be worth checking out.

And if it's anything like previous Overwatch events, returning skins will be available at a cheaper price. We've seen the company celebrate various holidays, even the Lunar New Year, which in 2017 was the Year of the Rooster.

"Junkrat has been enjoying the flexibility his double-charge Concussion Mine provides, but it has now become a bit too easy to throw out huge bursts of damage in a large area", a message from Blizzard reads.
