OnePlus 5T gets stable Android 8.0 Oreo

We all know OnePlus often likes to do things differently from your typical Android smartphone manufacturer, and that includes the order in which the Chinese OEM's flagship-killing devices have been updated to the newest OS flavor.

The OnePlus 5T launched late past year, disappointingly with Nougat out of the box.

The Clipboard app has been a problematic one for the users of the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T smartphones. OnePlus in a forum post that the feature in question has been removed based on the user feedback.

The new updates also come with another interesting addition: the CPU patch CVE-2017-13218, which Google had confirmed to be part of the January 2018 Android security patch. These gestures can be enabled by going into Settings and disabling the navigation bar. OnePlus was accused of sending identifiable data to its servers in China through the Clipboard app. This update also brings some bug fixes and improvements, you can check out the full list of the changes below.

You'll be able to perform iPhone X-like gestures in order to navigate through the phone. The new beta build also includes an India-focused SMS categorisation feature to auto-sort SMS messages into categories.

OnePlus's Open Beta program tends to see updates more frequently than the stable channel, which gives the team time to test new features and squash bugs.

Both phones do let you choose whether to slide up or down to pick up incoming calls, however.
