"Significant changes" to Star Wars Battlefront II's progression system coming soon

EA also promised a new season is "coming soon". While concrete details on those adjustments are set to arrive by March, it's reasonable to think a huge focal point will be reducing reliance on randomized loot crates, revitalizing the rigged Star Card system and possibly adding cosmetic items for Rebel and Empire troops.

Star War Battlefront 2 had landed into major controversy past year due to its in-game purchase model which later was revoked by EA for some time.

A "revamped progression system" based on player feedback is on its way, though DICE elected to keep quiet about what changes will be made.

We'll have to wait until March to hear more details about these changes, but EA says they will "address numerous things we've seen players asking for". Available only for a limited time, this mode will be for two teams of eight players, with EA saying it's "fast-paced" and "frantic".

What these changes actually are and when they're coming, however, are left for us to guess.

But the important bit, the issue that desperately needs to be addressed because it bogs the whole game down, is further out. Seasons of Star Wars Battlefront typically involve the addition of new locations and characters and it makes sense that they would want to push out all of the big content changes at once.

With these improvements, and not to mention a few sales - such as the one that's taking place on Xbox Live right now for around $40 - Star Wars: Battlefront II should have no trouble pushing forward, as it provides a great deal of wealth with its multiplayer, as well as its various modes and single player campaign. We know you're waiting for details on what's coming in the next season, and we'll have more to tell you soon. What would you like to see in the second season?
