John Kerry considering 2020 run for president

Kerry, who served as U.S. Secretary of State under President Barack Obama, met in London with a key adviser of Mahmoud Abbas, president of the Palestinian Authority, according to The Jerusalem Post, which cited a story in the Hebrew-language Israeli newspaper Maariv.

The former top USA diplomat also commented on the ongoing efforts of the Trump administration to negotiate a peace plan between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, and suggested that Abbas present his own peace plan in the wake of the White House's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital in December.

Yes, another Democrat has prematurely predicted Trump's demise.

The website reports that Kerry told Palestinian officials that he was strongly considering a run in 2020, and hinted that Trump will likely not be in office much longer in strongly-worded conversation Wednesday.

According to a leaked account of the meeting, Kerry told Abbas aid Hussein Agha that the Palestinians need to "hold on and be strong" because soon Trump will be gone.

He advised the PA not to attack the U.S. or the Trump Administration, but rather focus on Trump as an individual, whom Kerry considers exclusively responsible for the current situation.

Kerry also suggested that the Palestinians put forward their own peace plan, and promised that if they did, he would push it with all his might to everyone he knew to garner support for it in the global arena. He promised to use all his contacts and all his abilities to get support for such a plan.

According to the report, when referring to the president, Kerry used highly derogatory terms.

Kerry reportedly said there was a good chance Trump wouldn't be in the White House a year from now, so presumably another good reason for Abbas to "hold on".

The Palestinian adviser, Hussein Agha, told senior Palestinian Authority officials that Kerry "appeared to be insane about things" during their long and varied conversation, according to the story.
