Box-office numbers of Padmaavat will be earth-shattering: Deepika

Padmaavat has received mostly positive response from film critics, while Bollywood has come out to unanimously praise the movie.

The movie was shown to journalists in Delhi and Mumbai on January 23. "To see that the film is finally releasing and to see the kind of reactions that the film is getting, it is extremely overwhelming", she said at the red carpet of HT Style Awards. "I think now it's really time for us to celebrate and see the film do wonders at the box-office". According to Box Office India report, the Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor starrer has had a very good first day of around 18 crore net as per early estimates. Biggest Ranveer Singh opening before this was Ramleela with 15.62 crores and film managed to grab more than 100 crores lifetime on box office.

It is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and produced by Sudhanshu Vats, Ajit Andhare & Sanjay Leela Bhansali. In fact, in UP and Bihar, the movie has a limited release because of fear and uncertainly.

The censor board had suggested five modifications, including a title change from "Padmavati" to "Padmaavat". The actor, on Wednesday evening at an event, said her film speaks for itself and it is the best response the team can give to anyone. The film has been given a solo release with Akshay Kumar postponing Padman to 9th Feb and it presents a lot of opportunity for Padmavat.

"I think there is a time for everything".

Also featuring Aditi Rao Hydari as Mehr-un-nisa (wife of Alauddin Khilji), Raza Murad as Jalaluddin Khilji (uncle of Alauddin), Jim Sarbh as Malik Kafur ( close aide of Alauddin) and Anupriya Goenka as Rani Nagmati (first wife of Maharawal Ratan Singh), Padmaavat has witnessed massive protests by various Rajput groups across the country.
