Customer returns dead Christmas tree to Costco, gets full refund

"Woman in line at Costco, totally nonchalant, to return her Christmas tree "because it is dead" on January 4", he said.

Bizarrely, the woman apparently managed to get her money back in full despite taking the battered fir back a full ten days after December 25. "The refund attempt riled up people online who couldn't believe someone would try to return their Christmas tree well into the new year", according to the article.

The post has since been deleted, but a vestige of it survives on the Internet.

A picture accompanying the post showed a woman with a red "X" over her face standing with a dead Christmas tree at the Costco customer service counter.

"I can't make this stuff up", Bentley wrote.

'She did get a refund - not happily though.

'But I don't think it fazed her because she had no conscience, ' the man wrote on Facebook.

Bentley said that the woman didn't mind that he had taken a photo of her, even as she asked him "are you serious?"

"We will cancel and refund your membership fee in full at any time if you are dissatisfied", says Costco's return policy on membership.

Costco is known for it's generous return policy.

While the rest of us were debating where to abandon our trees, one woman chose to take hers back for a refund. "They will even demand a refund without bringing back the tree".
