Pokemon Go Will Soon Stop Working On Older iPhones And iPads

If you're unsure which iOS device you own, head to Apple's site for identifying your iPhone or iPad. This includes the iPhone 5, the iPhone 5C, and the iPad 4. Apparently, the new change will take effect on February 28 via an update to the game.

Trainers that use an older Apple device to play Pokemon GO will have until the end of February to upgrade. Niantic do state that "This change is a result of improvements to Pokémon GO that push the application beyond the capabilities of the operating systems on such devices".

Wondering if your device is included in the purge? While dropping support from older phones will probably affect only a small portion of Pokemon Go players, the announcement was not met with much enthusiasm from current players.

For those who don't know, Kyogre is one of the three Gen 3 Legendary Pokemon originally discovered in the Hoenn region games.

"We can't confirm yet, but updates like these (CP and move nerfs) usually come prior to the release of that particular Pokémon", the site mentioned.

Fans of Pokemon Go who haven't upgraded their phones or tablets since 2013 or earlier are about to have to find a new way to catch 'em all. There's so many more players that have since given up on the EX Raids. Unfortunately for some players, an upcoming Pokemon Go update will also make it unplayable on some older iPhones.
