LG to unveil its rollabale 65-inch 4K OLED TV

The South Korean major has already announced a slew of products, including an 88-inch 8K TV, which it will be showcasing at the CES 2018.

As the tech world heads to Vegas for CES, LG Display today teased another gadget it will show off on the show floor: a 65-inch OLED TV you can roll up and store elsewhere when not in use. That was much more of a tech demo than what this looks to be, just showing off the idea of a display that can be rolled up instead of how it might actually be used in practice.

What's most likely is that LG would flog these panels to businesses looking to impress with a fancy display.

The panel also boasts an Ultra HD display resolution, so you could use it to watch 4K TV shows and movies.

Last year, the firm successfully developed a 77-inch transparent OLED display.

"The small size of the rolled-up screen means that it can be more easily moved and stored". But it's most likely to be a prototype as well.

LG hopes that this sort of display will allow customers to enjoy bright, hi-res content "anytime, anywhere".

LG says this 65-inch UHD rollable OLED display "highlights the distinctive technological edges and unlimited potential of OLEDs".

LG seems to be taking the center stage at this year's CES. The fact that this is a full-sized TV display with complete 4K resolution shows just how far LG has come in developing its unique OLED home theater screens in ways that no LCD TV so far comes close to imitating.

LG created the screen using its famous OLED display technology, which allows for a wide range of colours and impressive contrast.
