Kawhi Leonard has partial tear in left shoulder

Despite Leonard's injuries, the Spurs own the fifth-best record in the National Basketball Association as they embark on a road trip, beginning with Sunday night's matchup with the Blazers.

Leonard (shoulder) will not play in Monday's game against the Kings, Tom Osborn of the San Antonio Express-News reports.

Of their absentees, the most worrying for them is superstar Leonard who only recently returned from a long spell out with a torn quad.

It's been an injury-riddled stretch for San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard, from an ankle issue that ended his season during last year's playoffs to a quad injury that delayed his 2017-18 season debut until December 12.

Leonard sustained the injury during the Spurs' 103-89 win Friday over the Phoenix Suns.

"I don't know [when Kawhi will return]", Pop said.

On the plus side, the team believes he could return by Thursday against the Los Angeles Lakers, per Wright.

Leonard, a two-time All-Star, has been limited to eight games this season because of a quadriceps injury. He has also won two Defensive Player of the Year awards. He made his season debut December 12 and is averaging 15.9 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.

"It's disappointing. We need him", veteran Manu Ginobili said.
