Zara Tindall: Queen's granddaughter pregnant with second child

A year after a devastating miscarriage Zara Phillips, 36, and husband Mike Tindall, 39, are expecting their second child.

In her Christmas speech, the Queen said her family "look forward to welcoming new members into it next year". With Prince William and Kate preparing for their third child along with Prince Harry's engagement to Meghan Markel it's easy to forget that the Queen has six other grandchildren.

Zara's pregnancy comes just over a year after she tragically suffered a miscarriage, and Mike admitted at the time that their daughter Mia had been their "saving grace" throughout such a hard time. She is an Olympic silver medal victor in equestrian events and the daughter of Princess Anne.

The couple had previously announced that Zara was pregnant in 2016, however, she suffered a miscarriage in December of the same year. "At this hard time, we ask that everyone respects their privacy", a rep for the couple said at the time.

Zara, who married Mike in July 2011 at Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh, Scotland, admitted Mia came earlier than they initially planned.

The Queen is said to be "very pleased" to be expecting another great-grandchild.

Zara said recently: "We have always had sport in our lives and through our childhood".

Speaking about their loss in May, Mike revealed little Mia had been their "saving grace".

The British Royal Family is expecting another child this year and we are NOT referring to William and Kate's.
