David Letterman's New Netflix Show Has Some Stellar Guests Lined Up

Last March, Letterman told New York Magazine that he "would have gone to work on Trump" if he was still a late night host.

Former President Barack Obama is set to be late-night legend David Letterman's first guest on his new Netflix series next week, marking 44's return to major talk show scene.

Letterman's revival will certainly ride a viewership boost from Obama's first talk show appearance since he vacated office. The lineup includes Barack Obama, George Clooney, Malala Yousafzai, Tina Fey, Howard Stern, and Jay-Z. The hourlong series will premiere next Friday, and five subsequent episodes will bow monthly through the first half of the year. The series is produced by RadicalMedia and WorldWide Pants Incorporated. Obama's appearance on the new show marks the former president's first television interview since leaving office past year.

This is the first time Netflix hasn't made every episode of a series that has already been completed available to binge, so Letterman must have been pretty adamant about that when finalizing the deal.

Unlike most Netflix shows, My Next Guest won't drop all at once. The interview will take place inside both a studio and out in the world, and feature in-the-field segments of Letterman on outings related to his guests. But if we're lucky, this could just be the beginning of Letterman's work at Netflix.
