Boston's First Baby Of 2018 Born At Brigham and Women's Hospital

As crowds celebrated in Times Square, hospitals across New York City welcomed the first babies of the new year.

The National Maternity Hospital in Holles Street welcomed a baby girl just after 3am.

The baby weighed 8lb 2oz after being born at 12.32am.

The hospital also delivered the first baby on Christmas day.

The third baby of 2018 was born in Wexford at 12.30am.

In Dundee, the labour ward at Ninewells Hospital had five new arrivals in the early hours of Monday.

The Cork hospital also had four baby boys born later in the morning.

The first birth of the year in the capital was a baby boy at the Rotunda Hospital, who arrived at 1.35am.

Born at 12:01 a.m.at Flushing Hospital in Queens, Ariana, born to Tania Shirin, 25, became the first baby born in the new year. On Vancouver Island, another baby was born in Nanaimo at 1:23 a.m.

He weighed in at 2.9kg or 6lbs 4oz.

"I was in labour for a long time and I just wanted the baby to come out, but when I looked at the time and saw the fireworks ... it was attractive, with a lot of colours", Hlengiwe Khoza, Shiloh's mom, told reporters from her hospital room Monday afternoon.
