Children's Museum preparing for New Year's Noon

Pre-registration starts at 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning and the race will kick off at noon.

It's the early New Year's Eve celebration at the Fairmount branch of the Davenport Library. The Library hosted a party for those who are too young to stay up and watch the ball drop.

Thousands of revelers plan to count down to the new year in the cold and potentially snowy Times Square on Sunday.

"One of the cool things about it is it's in the middle day", Jenkins said.

Not only can you take the kids on a safari through the Denver Zoo lights, including more than 150 illuminated animal sculptures, the zoo will also have an early New Year's Eve countdown at 9:00 p.m.so you can get the little ones in bed early.

"It's gets us out of the house", she added.

New Year's at Noon was about ringing in 2018 for those who might be asleep when the clock strikes midnight, or who might fall asleep trying to make it there. And through the end of the year, new members of the Museum will receive $25 to spend in the Museum's Science Store.

"This is the ideal opportunity for them to enjoy the new year", their mother said.

Rick and Meghann Flynn said they came to give their toddler son, James, a chance to socialize with other kids. "Mari is stellar with the kids, and it shows". "There's not a lot for kids to do on New Year's and this is a great way for them to ring in the New Year while staying warm and learning".
