New York Police Opens Investigation Into Russell Simmons Amid Rape Allegations

Yesterday, four of Simmons' accusers appeared in The New York Times where they spoke about their experience at the hands of the entrepreneur, who they've accused of rape and sexual assault.

Baker said when she resisted, Simmons told her "don't fight" and climbed on top of her while she was pinned to the bed. She added, "I actually think I told him I would call Page Six!"

"He just expected that that was what was going to happen", she tells The Los Angeles Times.

"While I have never been violent, I have been thoughtless and insensitive in some of my relationships over many decades and I sincerely and humbly apologize", he said.

Simmons' lawyer says that the results will be released once he completes the tests.

"I didn't want to cut off my one conduit to having any hope of a career", Dixon said, "I thought if I could survive long enough to have a hit - a real bona fide hit with my name on it - I would move categories".

Simmons took to his "unclerush" Instagram account Thursday afternoon to "defend" himself after allegations of rape came to light this week in addition to last month's reports in which he was accused by Keri Claussen Khalighi of sexually assaulting her in 1991, when she was 17 and he was about 33 years old. That's when she alleges the then-fledgling mogul pinned her down and proceeded to rape her. She says Simmons raped her in his NY office around 1983.

Accusations of rape and sexual harassment against disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein have opened the floodgates of historical sex claims.

Since the first accusation 10 more ladies have stepped up to accuse Simmons, 60, of sexual misconduct.

The Times is reporting that seven of the cases occurred in NY and that police are in the process of contacting women who have accused Simmons of assaulting them in the city. Following Lumet's accusations, he issued a statement he was stepping down from the companies he owns. The music mogul is being accused of repulsive acts of sexual harassment and sexual assault by several ladies, and is now under investigation by the NYPD for the claims.

Lumet made a decision to come forward after Simmons stated, "I have never committed any acts of aggression or violence in my life".
