Alleged Airplane Smoker Threatens To 'Kill Everybody On This F**king Plane'

Told to return to her seat, the woman was then seen on a video, shouting, "I will kill everybody on this f-- plane".

The average flight time from Portland International Airport to Sacramento International Airport is 1 hour and 23 minutes, according to Flight Sphere.

Southwest Flight 2943 was between Portland and Sacramento when a woman, identified as 24-year-old Valerie Curbello, attempted to smoke in the airplane bathroom and tamper with the smoke detector to avoid being caught, according to airline officials.

A 24-year-old OR woman was arrested over the weekend after video captured a passenger threatening to "kill everybody" on a Southwest Airlines flight headed to Sacramento from Portland. "I swear if you don't bleep land!" The man who recorded the video claimed that Curbelo also pushed a flight attendant during the chaotic ordeal.

When a reporter from CBS 13 asked Curbelo why she made the threat, she replied that she was confused by her behavior.

"I don't know", Curbelo replied. She remains in Sacramento County Jail on $75,000 bail ahead of a 1:30 p.m. scheduled arraignment Tuesday. The woman was traveling somewhere between Portland and Sacramento on December 9, and chose to smoke a cigarette in the bathroom, despite being instructed not to for safety purposes.

But why did she threaten to kill people? "Why did you say that?"

But it was enough to get her arrested, as law enforcement were waiting for her at the gate.

The Sacramento Sheriff's Department says Curbelo lives in Sandy, Oregon.

Curbelo was arrested on three felony counts of threats to commit a crime resulting in death or great bodily injury. She remained in custody at the Sacramento County Main Jail as of Monday night.
