'Dangal' actor Zaira Wasim alleges molestation on Air Vistara

The actor posted a video on the social media platform a little after midnight in which she narrated the harrowing incident onboard the Air Vistara flight, tears rolling down her cheeks. This is not the way, this is not a girl should be made to feel because this is awful. In court, Sachdeva's lawyer accused Wasim of making the allegations for publicity, and asked why she had not complained to crew members during the flight. "I personally feel education for individual has just been a procedure to earn a degree and turn qualified just to earn money".

She said she tried to click a photo of the man but couldn’t get a clear shot due to dim lights. "Later, we were told that he was brought to the police station in connection with a molestation case", she claimed.

"We had no clue when police reached our home to arrest him".

Ms Wasim had accused the airline of not doing anything to help her when she raised the issue, but did not file an official complaint against them.

The accused identified as Vikas Satpal Sachadev was arrested by Sahar police station in Mumbai after the cops detained him briefly.

"We have seen the reports regarding her experience with another customer on board last night".

Several national commissions for women's rights have demanded a detailed report from the airline, which says it's investigating the incident.

Vistara, on its part, has announced that it has a policy of "zero tolerance" towards such incidents and has launched a probe into it.

The actor's manager later claimed that the Vistara flight crew did not come to her aid on being informed about the incident.

A spokeswoman for the airline said it had provided details to the police and aviation authorities and its senior management had flown to Mumbai to assist Wasim in the investigation.

"It appears crew only became aware of something amiss during final descent when they were seated for landing", the statement read. Further details will come from the investigation which is now going on in full force, he said.

Condemning the incident, Shiv Sena spokesperson Neelam Gorhe said a criminal offence should be registered against the male passenger and he should be asked to apologise for the indecent behaviour. "If the owners of such companies do not take suitable action against such employees their conduct will never change", Gorhe said.
