Chelsea must secure top-four finish, says Conte

Manchester United and Chelsea failed to qualify for last season's Champions League and Arsenal now are in the Europa League after a fifth-placed league finish.

Swiss Club FC Basel will face Manchester City and 2017 runners-up, Juventus will face Tottenham Hotspur.

No club has won the European title three years running since Bayern Munich in the mid-1970s, underlining how big an achievement it would be if Madrid - 12 times winners overall - won the trophy again in the final in Kiev in May.

"We will meet them in the last 16, which is a bit early, we could say".

"For sure it is hard because to face a game every three days is not simple, especially if your squad is not big, but at the same time we have to face this situation".

"I think when you play every three days, it is impossible to have a training session and to work on the physical aspects". They're a strong team.

Former PSG defender Maxwell, now an ambassador for the Ligue 1 club, said on UEFA's website: "It's a good draw, with two good games to play". "Our fans will like it after we were knocked out by Barcelona last season".

"Our reaction must be positive", said head coach Conte in a news conference ahead of Tuesday's Premier League meeting with Huddersfield Town. It's a lovely challenge for the club. Hopefully we arrive with a full squad, and have the fortune that you always need in this sort of tie.

"I think we have to face the reality and will try to do our best. We'll go into it with optimism, confidence and a huge desire to get through".

"The Italian, who conceded that the league title was out of reach after the West Ham defeat, challenged his players to put things right at Huddersfield".
