Jimbo Fisher's vision, process find ideal fit at Texas A&M

"I'm extremely grateful to be here at Texas A&M, and this is without a doubt one of college football's greatest sports venues and richest traditions", new Aggies Football Head Coach Jimbo Fisher announced. He agreed to a 10-year deal worth $75 million after his eight seasons at FSU where he led the Seminoles to the 2013 national championship. "And after Scotty contacted, and I started to research".

"I think it was a no-brainer, in a insane way", Fisher said.

Meanwhile Florida State is wasting no time in finding someone new. It was phenomenal. It was a tremendous place. But in our life, there are opportunities out there and you see it.

"I had no plans of ever leaving there..."

Former Florida State University football coach Jimbo Fisher says accepting a job at Texas A&M University was a no-brainer. Fisher said Woodward provides that unity at Texas A&M which was one of the major reasons he chose to take the job.

"You have to be one". Woodward worked in LSU's athletic department while Fisher was the Tigers' offensive coordinator in the early 2000s.

From big road wins to monster home victories and from conference titles to a national crown, the Noles became one of the top programs in the country again - even in spite of the dumpster fire dealt with in 2017.

Nearly two years to the month after accepting his role as athletic director, Scott Woodward said what initially brought him to College Station was the amount chances to achieve an infinite amount of success in every program at A&M. Woodward and Fisher overlapped at LSU from 2000-2004.

"I'll always be grateful and the way you treated my family, and I wish you nothing but the best", Fisher said.

The school literally rolled out a red carpet for Fisher when he arrived in College Station on Sunday and welcomed him with a maroon blazer and pair of Texas A&M boots at Monday's press conference.
