Fla. girl found safe after running away with soccer coach

As CrimeOnline previously reported, 17-year-old Caitlyn Frisina was reported missing from her Lake City home nearly a week ago and was believed to have left with Rian Rodriguez.

A Florida teen who went missing almost a week ago with a soccer coach has been found in NY, law enforcement officials said Friday.

The pair was spotted at 4 p.m. Friday by a State Police investigator, Todd Grant, who recognized Rodriguez's red Mercury sedan and its Florida license plates.

Rodriguez was arrested on a charge of interference in child custody, and Caitlyn was detained, deputies said.

Authorities did not release much additional information in statements Friday, though they indicated a news conference Monday will provide updates.

The incident began Sunday when Frisina's parents reported her missing.

"We had a very attractive, wonderful, very emotional reunion with her a little while ago", the teen's mother, Scarlet Frisina, told reporters at a news conference Saturday afternoon.

The 17-year-old climbed out her bedroom window on Saturday night and left behind her cell phone, which had been wiped clean of data.

During interviews with news media reporters, the girl's parents had pleaded for her to return home.

They were also spotted early Sunday evening at a pawn shop in Fayetteville, Hunter said.

Sheriff Mark Hunter said, "She is legally a juvenile".

Rodriguez was a coach for the boys' soccer team at Fort White High School in Fort White, Fla.

Authorities said it appeared "a potential relationship" was blossoming between Frisina and Rodriguez before the teen's disappearance.
