The case had prompted an Amber Alert and garnered nationwide attention.

Newly released warrants from the Onslow County Sheriff's Office indicate that Kimery 'allegedly knowingly concealed the unnatural death of Mariah Woods, and secretly hid the child's body'. He is also charged with second-degree burglary, felony larceny and possession of stolen property, authorities said.

He's being held in the Onslow County Detention Center under a $1,010,000 bond.

District Attorneys say he could face additional charges as the investigation continues. The search is now shifting to recovery efforts.

Officials said 730 volunteers participated in a search for Mariah on Friday.

The FBI said it has been sending "items of interest" to its lab in Quantico, Virginia, for priority testing in the case.

"We all hoped and prayed to find her alive". Dozens had to be turned away. "They're doing all that they can do and they feel helpless". It was unlikely she would simply wander off, family members said, and if she did, she wouldn't get far.

Earl Kimrey, 32, was taken into custody Friday as authorities gathered evidence leading them to believe Mariah Woods is dead, KTLA sister station WGHP reported.

The FBI released this photo of Mariah Woods, who was reporting missing on November 27, 2017. He said he doesn't believe his daughter was abducted. "Someone just walked right up in there, grabbed the 3-year-old out of the bed, and she didn't cry, she didn't scream?" he said. Alex Woods said. "Nobody heard anything?" She has been missing from her home since Monday. Please just bring her back safe and sound - she's my baby, she's my everything'. "She's my baby, she's my everything", said Kristy Woods in a press conference. "She was sent to me for a reason".

Residents were moved to action following Woods' public appeals for help in the search for her "very sweet, loving girl" with blue eyes and long brown hair.

As the search for Mariah intensified, questions swirled about the story told by Mariah's caretakers.

Since then, more than 225 members of 14 local, state, and federal agencies conducted almost 100 interviews, and followed more than 140 leads.
