Woman passenger, Air India duty manager slap each other at Delhi airport

"Poonam Arora, traveling with Air India AI-019 slapped a female duty manager, Pooja, for not allowing her to board the flight".

A woman passenger and an Air India duty manager slapped each other at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on Tuesday morning after she was denied boarding for reporting late, police said. The flight was scheduled to depart Delhi at 5am, for which she arrived at 4.18am. There was an argument between the passenger and Air India staffer and the former slapped the latter. The woman was then taken to the police for the investigation, as she'd slapped the staffer because of some issue relating to the ticket. People have said that strict action should be taken against the woman who had the audacity to attack the staffer without any provocation. The passenger later approached the police, but according to the airline spokesperson, the passenger and the Air India staffer later apologised to each other and solved the matter amicably. Just a few weeks earlier IndiGo faced an avalanche of brickbats after a video showing its staff manhandling a passenger at the tarmac of the Delhi airport went viral. An argument ensued, leading to a scuffle and the passenger allegedly slapped the staffer and vice versa.

Mr. Bhatia said that both women were then taken to Safdarjung Hospital for medical examination where the nature of injury was found to be non-serious.

The duty manager also hit back, DCP, Airport, Sanjay Bhatia said.

Only two months ago, the aviation ministry introduced a no-fly list after several instances of passengers, many of them politicians, misbehaving with airline/airport staff.
