Time magazine disputes Trump's "Person of the Year" tweet

Donald Trump recently claimed that he rejected a not-quite-official offer to be Time Magazine's "Person of the Year".

Celebrities ranging from movie stars to professional athletes mocked President Trump for claiming Friday that he turned down being named Time's "Person of the Year".

Time had in fact named Trump its Person of the Year last year. He says he told the magazine that "probably" isn't good enough, and he would pass on the opportunity. TIME does not comment on our choice until publication, which is December 6, ' the magazine wrote on Friday.

Time Magazine's hit back saying he's "incorrect" about how it chooses its recipient.

TIME itself commented on the president's tweet to say that he was incorrect about their editorial process.

Trump frequently brags about his cover appearances in the iconic magazine. Quoting Trump's tweet Stengel, Stengel asserted,"They just wanted a photo shoot".

"The #MuellerInvestigation just called and said you were PROBABLY going to be named Soap Monitor on your wing and would have to agree to an interview and a perp picture with your combover shaved off", Isaacs tweeted.

At the time, explaining their decision, the judges wrote: "It's hard to measure the scale of his disruption".

The president was chosen as the "Person of the Year" for 2016.

President Trump shouldn't fret; he'll be on many more Time covers.

And Oscar victor Patricia Arquette wrote in response to Trump's tweet that he could just print himself "another fake cover".

For several years, Donald Trump has reliably tweeted complaints about not winning Time's Person of the Year. Nope. Trump's problem is that the magazine wouldn't assure him the spot.

You can always print yourself another fake cover.

"Thank you to Time Magazine and Financial Times for naming me "Person of the Year" - a great honour!" he tweeted.
