Reports of shooting at NY mall

CBS New York reports shoppers were evacuated from a busy mall Sunday afternoon after police reported shots were fired inside the mall.

Wallkill Police Chief Robert Hertman said in a news conference Sunday evening that a single shot was sacked inside the mall outside the American Eagle Outfitters store around 3 p.m.

Hertman said a single round was sacked into the floor on the mall's second level.

The shooting happened inside the American Eagle store at the Galleria Mall in Middleton.

The two victims suffered "minor wounds" to their lower extremities, Hertman said, but did not disclose whether those victims suffered gunshot wounds.

Hertman said they did not yet know whether the gun was shot accidentally or intentionally. He said police are still seeking the man whose gun went off.

Officials say the mall was evacuated.
