Jones' big game leads Falcons past Buccaneers 34-20

Suddenly, things are looking up for the reigning NFC champions.

The Atlanta Falcons lost cornerbacks Desmond Trufant and Brian Poole to injuries in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

If nothing else, Jones will provide Atlanta a scary threat as long as he is healthy over the next few years.

"The goal is to get better as you're playing", coach Dan Quinn said.

After managing only one touchdown catch through the first 10 games, he doubled that total in the first half. "But right now, I'm good". It was Jones' third career game with more than 250 yards receiving.

Jones came into time contest with 786 yards on the season and only one touchdown, but he was catching everything that came towards his very wide catching radius.

Ryan was 26 of 35 for 317 yards, while Sanu remained flawless in his career when throwing the ball. "He's an unbelievable talent, an unbelievable competitor".

It took a couple months into their NFC title defense season, but the 7-4 Falcons appear to be having fun again.

Atlanta will need some of their stars to step it up big time for them to win enough to even consider that, but it isn't out of the question. The Buccaneers (4-7) rebounded from a 27-6 deficit behind backup Ryan Fitzpatrick and drove deep into Atlanta territory after forcing a fumble at the other end of the field. Tevin Coleman sealed the game with his second rushing touchdown with under two minutes remaining.
