Guarantee safe return of Jadhav's wife: India to Pak

The MEA spokesperson notwithstanding the long pending request from Jadhav's mother to visit her son, India responded positively to the Pakistani offer to arrange a meeting of between him and his wife. Last week, Pakistan said it is also "considering" India's request to let Jadhav's mother meet him, apart from his wife.

On November 10, Pakistan offered to allow Jadhav's wife to visit him during his incarceration.

MEA said that during the stay of Kulbhushan's wife and his mother in Pakistan, they should not be questioned and harassed.

A press release from Pakistan's foreign ministry website stated that Jadhav has "confessed" in a Pakistani court "that he was tasked by RAW to plan, coordinate and organise espionage, terrorist and sabotage activities aimed at destabilizing and waging war against Pakistan". However, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Dr Muhammad Faisal on Thursday also confirmed receiving a new Indian request of sending Jadhav's mother with his wife and said it was "being considered". India had put a condition that these two women shall be allowed to be accompanied by an Indian diplomat, including the time when the wife and mother meet Jadhav.

According to the foreign office, "Pakistan offered a meeting to commander Jadhav's wife, the next of kin, on purely humanitarian grounds". In April 2017, a Pakistan military court found him guilty of "espionage and sabotage" and sentenced him to death. In May, after the Indian government approached it, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) stayed Jadhav's execution till further orders.

India has denied these allegations and maintained that Jadhav was a businessman who was kidnapped from Iran by Pakistan agency ISI.
