Clippers lose Patrick Beverley for the remainder of the season

Unfortunately for Beverley and the free-falling Clippers, the guard will now be out indefinitely after undergoing surgery on the ailing knee.

The L.A. Clippers today announced that guard Patrick Beverley underwent an arthroscopic lateral meniscus fix, and a microfracture procedure, on his right knee. Rookie guard Juwan Evans and C.J. Williams should also see more minutes with such massive holes in the guard rotation. However, with Patrick Beverley out for the season, Milos Teodosic still out for an unspecified amount of time, and an offensive unit that's fallen to among the league's worst during their losing streak, there are plenty of longterm concerns for L.A.

Beverely has averaged 12.9 points, three assists and three rebounds for the Clippers this season.

The Clippers acquired Beverley, a shooting guard, in a multi-player trade with the Houston Rockets for Paul during the offseason.

Jordan can opt out of his contract at the end of this season.

"He's probably going to be out a while", Clippers coach Doc Rivers told reporters in Atlanta, where the reeling team was to face the Hawks on Wednesday night, the fourth game of a five-game cross-country trip. The LA Clippers now stand at 5-11, 13th in the loaded Western Conference.

The recovery process is expected to take nine months, leaving Beverley with the expectation of a full recovery to return next season. One of the biggest names being mentioned in trade rumors this early season is Los Angeles Clippers center DeAndre Jordan. Nobody will be surprised when he comes back even stronger next year.
