Jurgen Klopp Expresses 'Concern' Over Latest Injury Setbacks for Key Liverpool Duo

Sadio Mane has returned to Liverpool from worldwide duty after Senegal confirmed he has aggravated his hamstring injury.

The winger has suffered a recurrence if his hamstring problem that he picked up on the last global break just over a month ago.

"Following the South Africa against Senegal match on Friday, November 10 in Polokwane, the player Sadio Mane slightly felt his old injury".

Mane was surprisingly named in the starting line-up and he created two assists for Mohamed Salah in Liverpool's 4-1 win against West Ham United.

The manager told Liverpoolfc.com: "First and foremost, I have to say big congratulations to Senegal on the achievement of qualifying for the World Cup; this is fantastic news for their country and the players - Sadio included".

Jurgen Klopp will now be sweating on reports from Liverpool's club doctors on Mane's health.

"We will assess Sadio as soon as he lands in the country and make decisions on what rehab gives him the best chance of being fit for the important fixtures we have coming up".

The pair both arrived from Southampton within a year of each other, Clyne for £12.5m in 2015 and Mane for £34m the following year as the pair have settled in well to life in Liverpool. He is so proud of his country and recognises what a role model he is for them.

Mane's return to action against the Hammers was well ahead of schedule, so it's not a bad idea to send him back to Liverpool's doctors.
