Lonzo Ball makes history... doesn't care

Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball shared a conversation Saturday that he had with his father, LaVar Ball, regarding the arrest of his brother LiAngelo Ball in China. More importantly, Ball's overall game has garnered the respect of opponents throughout the league.

Anetokounmpo was certainly no slouch either, recording 33 points, 15 rebounds, and three assists. On Saturday, however, Ball connected on three of his five three-point attempts. Although the Lakers did not walk away with the win, Lonzo impressively reeled in a triple-double, becoming the youngest player to do so, beating out Lebron James who previously held the title. In fact, Ball's first year statistics (thus far) are nearly identical to that of Kidd, who averaged 11.7 points, 7.7 assists and 5.4 rebounds as a rookie for the Dallas Mavericks in 1994-95.

Ball may only be 12 games into his National Basketball Association career, but he has certainly made an impact on and off the court.

"You can see that (he will get a lot of triple-doubles)". I just wanted to win. I was the No. 1 pick (in 1979).

"My dad did call me but didn't give me much information", Lonzo said. Fortunately, he has proven just how capable he is of filling up the stat sheet every night. "The great ones do", Johnson said after Ball won the MVP award and led the Lakers to the Summer League crown in July.

"For us, it's tough to lose on this road trip".
