OnePlus 5T Price, Specifications, Features: Everything We Know So Far

This is coming just a week before the OP 5T will be officially unveiled in a press event scheduled to hold in New York City on November 16. The company's CEO, Pete Lao, published a blog post explaining the decision and told fans that its Dash Charge fast charging technology is still superior. Some wireless charging pads are being marketed as offering up to 15 watts of power, that is if the smartphone is properly placed on the charging pad. But, at the same time, he's also saying the phone will be better than before, and it might not be so much of a price increase to make the OnePlus 5T unattractive. That is why OnePlus 5T is not going to have a wireless charging.

The main reason to retain the dash charge technology is attributed to the fact that the technology is capable of delivering 20 watts of power. Hence, the Shenzhen based Chinese smartphone manufacturer has made it crystal clear that it will stick with Dash charge. A supposedly leaked image has also been doing the rounds on the internet, which shows the body of the Oppo R11s with the branding of the back featuring the OnePlus logo. There's no denying the convenience of being able to charge your phone simply by putting it down onto a pad. It may just be that the company plans to phase out the 8GB RAM variant of OnePlus 5 and replace it with the 5T model, but we will have to wait till November 16 what the plan really is. It'll be interesting if the OnePlus 5T will cost the same as the OnePlus 5 though - we imagine the 5 will receive a price cut if that's the case. According to several reports, the next flagship smartphone will have a similar price tag as OnePlus 5, which is now available for a starting price of Rs 32,999. Users can't really use the handset while it's charging that way, such as picking it up to play a game or take a photo, because they have to keep the phone in a certain position to wirelessly charge it on a pad.

Were you hoping to see wireless charging on the OnePlus 5T? Those who are selected will be asked to use the phone and offer up their impressions of the 5T. As pointed out by XDA, having wireless charging could benefit a lot of users by allowing them to have short but frequent intermittent charging all throughout the day. He did also mention that the company will adopt wireless technology when the time is right, but not just yet.
